About The Sapphire Theory

The Sapphire Theory was born from a personal search.

When I was looking to purchase a meaningful piece of fine jewellery for myself, I found it surprisingly difficult to understand where gemstones originated from, how they were sourced, or who had handled them along the way. Transparency felt absent in an industry built on beauty and sentiment.

At the same time, I kept returning to Australian sapphires, beautiful stones shaped by ancient landscapes, rich in colour, durability, and quiet character. I knew they were beautiful. I also knew they were responsibly mined under some of the highest environmental and labour standards in the world. What was missing was a way to celebrate their beauty through honest and thoughtful designs.

So I taught myself.

With no formal training, I learned the art of lost-wax casting through years of practice, patience, and refinement. Slowly, a signature style emerged, fluid bezel settings designed to sit low on the finger, shaped to feel effortless, protective, and deeply wearable.

Today, every piece of The Sapphire Theory is created using one-of-a-kind Australian sapphires sourced directly from small, family-run mining and lapidary businesses across Queensland and New South Wales. I know where each sapphire comes from, who mined it, and how it was cut. The gold and sterling silver I work with are ethically sourced within Australia, chosen with the same care and accountability.

The Sapphire Theory was born to honour women who choose jewellery for themselves, not as a symbol of status, but as a reflection of self-trust, independence, and self-love. Pieces intentionally designed and made, and never repeated.

Because fine jewellery should tell the truth, about where it comes from, how it’s made, and who it’s really for.
